A great way to find good books if you're not sure where to start looking.
Although hardly a new genre, romantasy is having a moment right now. Combining romance and fantasy, the hybrid often includes high fantasy elements and worldbuilding entwined with a compelling romance between the book’s central characters. However, romantasy also expands to romance with paranormal or other fantasy elements that are more grounded in a realistic world (PRH).

May 2024: Re-read your favorite romance novel!
June 2024: Regency Romance. Per Novelist: Romance blooms in 19th-century England, ruled by the Prince Regent in place of his ill father, King George III.
July 2024: Paranormal Romance. Per NoveList: From demi-gods and demons, to angels and psychically-gifted humans, the lovers in these tantalizing paranormal romances are anything but ordinary.
August 2024: Cowboy Romance. Sometimes considered a subgenre of a Western Romance (itself a subgenre of romance), cowboy romances feature, you guessed it, cowboys, rodeos, and ranch hands. Picture strong, stubborn, denim and plaid-wearing men, who hide a heart of gold under their gruff exterior.
September 2024: Royal Romance. Castles and crowns and princes, oh my! These books often feature princes undercover, looking for love in order to escape an arranged marriage, or other aspects of being royal in the modern world.
October 2024: LGBTQ Romance. Per NoveList, these romances center on LGBTQIA couples, and may be set during any time period. Just a head's up, some of these stories deal with very heavy topics, and may not have a happy ending. LGBTQ romances include, but are not limited to, gay, lesbian, trans, and non-binary romances.
November 2024: Hearts in Danger Romance. Per NoveList, sometimes called Romantic Suspense, Romance heats up alongside danger in the books on this list: as lovers are drawn into dangerous situations, how far can they trust anyone -- even one other?
December 2024: Holiday Romance. Per NoveList, what's more romantic than long nights, firelight, and watching it snow with someone special? Keep yourself warm with one of these romances that evoke winter's seasonal fun and holiday cheer!
January 2025: Billionaire Romance. Wealthy, and arrogant, these billionaires need a person to love.
February 2025: Hockey Romance. Game, set, match! Featuring cold ice and hot players, these books have a reputation for a lot of... spice.
March 2025: Irish Romance. As the old joke goes... Head on over to the Emerald Isle this month, and fall in love with the Irish accent.
April 2025: Inspirational Romance. In these stories, faith helps guide you through life’s challenges, and discover the promise of a new beginning [Harlequin]. While usually Christian in nature, these romances cover all types of faith.
